Cardiology
Educate and inform patients, members, and employees on cardiology topics using brochures, booklets, and information sheets from Krames and the American Heart Association. Encourage the prevention and improvement of cardiology issues with lifestyle changes including maintaining a healthy diet, boosting activity, and reducing stress, as well as quitting smoking, controlling blood pressure, and reducing cholesterol or sodium in their diet.
Also provide those you care for education on heart attack and stroke, including warning signs, recovery, and the prevention of recurrence. Those with heart disease–such as heart failure, atrial fibrillation, or heart valve disease—can learn to live well and manage their condition with education written to improve health literacy and increase understanding. When treatments include procedures and therapies such as cardiac catheterization, pacemakers, bypass surgery, resynchronization, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), or angioplasty and stenting, you can reassure patients and caregivers alike with the knowledge they need to prevent complications and recover well.
